Norovirus Infects 1,000 Students and Teachers Across Yolo County

About 1,000 students, teachers and staff members across 32 schools in Yolo County have been sickened by norovirus. According to a press release issued by the county, more than 952 students, teachers and staff members are sick with stomach cramps, vomiting and/or diarrhea in schools throughout the county. In fact, the number of sick people “is increasing every day at a very alarming rate,” the county’s statement said. In addition, county officials tweeted out an alert to residents asking them to take adequate precautions to prevent the spread of the infection.
