Actor David Spade Injured in Los Angeles Car Accident
Actor and comedian David Spade was injured in a Los Angeles car accident on January 4, 2017. According to an MSN news report, the actor’s Range Rover was destroyed and he was injured after he was struck by another vehicle on Sunset Boulevard. TMZ reported that Spade was heading to dinner when he took a left turn at a very busy intersection during a busy time of the evening. The particular location where the collision occurred is known as one of the most dangerous intersections in the city.
Ongoing Investigation
The website reported that an oncoming car sped up to beat the yellow light and collided with Spade’s Range Rover. His airbags deployed, the vehicle spun into another car and one of the Range Rover’s rear tires went flying about 100 feet. No one was transported to the hospital. It was reported that Spade escaped with bumps and bruises.

According to TMZ and other news reports, it appears that speed may have been a factor in this collision. One report says that the driver of the other vehicle came through the intersection at a high rate of speed and struck the actor’s left-turning vehicle. The law requires all drivers to operate their vehicles at a speed that is safe, given the roadway, traffic and weather conditions.
California Vehicle Code Section 22350 (Basic Speed Law) states: “No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent having due regard for weather, visibility, the traffic and on surface and width of, the highway, and in no event at a speed which endangers the safety of persons or property.”
