Feeding Orange County's Less Fortunate - Personal Injury Attorney's With Heart

04/12/2012

A partnership between Second Harvest Food Bank and Bisnar Chase Personal Injury Attorneys handed out food to 107 Orange County families at their Adopt-A-Pantry food bank for the less fortunate on April 21, 2012. The 107 families consisted of 484 individuals who benefited from this charitable event.

As Bisnar Chase attorney Gavin Long stated, referring to his participation in handing out the food, "Many hands make light work" referring to the 13,749 pounds of food that the Bisnar Chase team unloaded, packaged, and handed out at the event.

Chris Schlindwein, one of the law firm's many employees who participated in the food giveaway said, "All of the families that showed up were very kind and appreciative. We all worked together as a team with one goal in common, to help out our fellow man."

Bisnar Chase Personal Injury Attorneys has made it their bimonthly pledge to team up with Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County to donate time and food to Orange County's less fortunate. John Bisnar, the law firm's founder comments that "When people have to choose between food and gas, food and healthcare or food and heat, they usually go to bed hungry. We don't want people to have to choose…I remember what that was like when I was a child. We want to put food on the tables so that no one, especially children, go hungry."

Our law firm believes it is not only a corporate responsibility but a personal one to help others who are struggling. "It is important to keep in mind the sense of need, urgency, and status of our current affairs in our economy, and how quickly anyone could find themselves in unfortunate circumstances", shared Lena Matson a Paralegal at Bisnar Chase. "It was a privilege to be a part of our law firm's donation of time and money to Adopt-A-Pantry to help out the less fortunate in our community.

Carey Wagenblast, another paralegal, brought her two children to the event to teach them how important it is for them not to judge or take things for granted, because in a turn of events they could be on the receiving line. Carey's 9 year old son at the end of the Adopt-A-Pantry turned to his mother and said, "It makes me feel good to hand out food to families that need help."

As heart warmed as the Bisnar Chase employees were to donate their time and make families smile, it was the families and Second Harvest Food Bank who were most grateful, "Thanks to you and the Bisnar Chase team for sponsoring and volunteering at Adopt-A-Pantry. You helped serve 107 families totaling 484 individuals!"
