Three Killed in Riverside County Car Accident
Three people were killed on the 60 Freeway in Jurupa Valley after their disabled car was hit by another vehicle. According to a news report in The Press-Enterprise, the incident occurred early morning on September 9, 2017 on the eastbound lanes of the freeway east of Country Village Road. California Highway Patrol officials said that for an unknown reason, the driver of a 1995 Honda Accord lost control and crashed into the concrete divider between the eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway.
The car became disabled and was in traffic lanes with lights off. That’s when a 27-year-old man from Redlands who was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion in the eastbound lanes crashed into the Honda. One of the Honda’s occupants was struck and sent over the center divider in the westbound lanes. That person was struck by passing vehicles and was pronounced dead. Two other occupants of the Honda were also fatally injured. The investigation is still ongoing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the three individuals who were killed in this Riverside County car accident. We offer our deepest condolences to them.

Fault and Liability
Based on this news report, it appears that the Ford struck the disabled vehicle that did not have lights on in the dark. There are still a number of questions here. What caused the initial crash involving the Honda Accord? How fast was the driver of the Ford traveling when the vehicle collided with the Honda? Was impaired driving, distracted driving or fatigue a factor in this crash? We trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.
In cases where negligence or wrongdoing are factors, families of deceased car accident victims can file what is known as a wrongful death lawsuit seeking compensation for damages including medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income, pain and suffering and loss of love and companionship. Families of victims would also be well advised to contact an experienced Riverside car accident lawyer who will stay abreast of the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.
