Tassimo Coffee Maker Recall Lawyers
Recalled by BSH Home Appliances Due to Burn Hazard
Do you own one of the 835,000 Tassimo or Bosch single serving coffee makers that has been recalled the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the manufacturer: BSH Home Appliances? At current count 37 people suffered 2nd degree burns from Tassimo coffee makers that exploded. Hot liquid, coffee grounds and tea leaves were sprayed onto consumers using the brewer.
In total thus far over 140 reports of explosion incidents have already occurred. With nearly 835,000 units in use in the U.S. the potential for further injury is great.
Have you been injured, had a malfunction, or experienced damage to other items in your kitchen or workplace due to this faulty coffee machine?
In many of these cases, the consumer may blame themselves for the accident when the reality in this case is that the appliance itself is faulty. This simple little single cup coffee maker has the potential to inflict serious damage to people even if they use it exactly as the instructions dictate.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with the manufacturer: BSH Home Appliances Corp., of Irvine, Calif. today announced a voluntary recall of the Tossimo Single Cup Coffee Brewer. Consumers were advised to stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
The Tassimo brewers come with the Bosch brand name and/or Tassimo Professional brewers. The brewers use plastic T Discs that are filled with coffee or tea to brew hot drinks. “BOSCH” and “TASSIMO” are printed on the front of the brewers. “TASSIMO PROFESSIONAL” is printed on the front of the professional model. The Bosch-brand brewers were sold in black, white, anthracite, gray, silver, red, titanium and white/gray colors. The Tassimo Professional brewers were only sold in black.
Photos and serial numbers and how to identify the defective machines are listed directly below.
Although consumers are ordered to immediately stop using the recalled Tassimo brewers and simply contact the firm to order a free replacement plastic T Disc holder for the brewing mechanism, it does not mean injuries have been fully addressed and that all consumers are aware of the dangers.
