‘Supergirl’ Actor Says He Became Sick After Eating at Chipotle
Concerns about Chipotle’s food have been resuscitated after “Supergirl” actor Jeremy Jordan said eating at the restaurant made him so sick that he had to be hospitalized. According to a Bloomberg news report, the incident threatens to renew concerns about food safety at Chipotle, which is still struggling to bounce back from an E. coli crisis in 2015 that sickened numerous customers.
Chipotle Says It Followed Protocols
Jordan, who plays Winn Schott on the CW show, “Supergirl,” posted an Instagram story from his hospital bed saying: “The food did not agree with me and I almost died.” Chipotle has said they can’t confirm that their food had anything to do with Jordan’s illness saying no one else has filed any reports or complaints. The company said it had reached the actor to determine where and when he ate.
Company officials said they were able to confirm that there were no reports of illness and that all employees at the location were healthy and all food protocols were followed and logged. Chipotle had just started to regain its reputation over the last year, but a norovirus incident in Virginia and a viral video of mice at a Dallas location created more public relations nightmares and negative headlines for the Mexican food chain.
Food Poisoning at Restaurants
If you have suffered food poisoning at a restaurant, please remember that you do have legal rights. You may be able to file a lawsuit against the restaurant seeking compensation for your injuries, damages and losses. There are several steps you can take to protect your rights. First, make sure you get medical attention, treatment and care. Make sure you save any leftovers you have from the restaurant.
If the leftovers test positive for bacteria, it could serve as evidence that the restaurant’s food caused your illness. In some cases, food poisoning is not caused by spoiled food, but by sick employees who are working when they should not be working. If you have been sickened as a result of eating at a restaurant, contact an experienced California food poisoning lawyer who will help you seek and obtain maximum compensation for your losses including medical expenses, lost income, hospitalization, pain and suffering and emotional distress.
