Pedestrians Injured in Newport Beach Car Accident
Two people were hospitalized with injuries after a pedestrian accident the night of July 6, 2017 after a car veered off the roadway and struck them. According to a news report in the Daily Pilot, the injury collision occurred in the 1900 block of West Coast Highway. Police arrived at the scene after receiving reports that a vehicle had struck two people and crashed into a building.
Police said the car was traveling eastbound on Coast Highway when it veered off the road and hit the pedestrians. It is unclear as to what caused the car’s driver to lose control. Alcohol or drugs don’t appear to be a factor and no citations or arrests were reported. The incident is still under investigation.
