Causes and Liability Issues
There are very few details in this news report about exactly how or why this accident occurred. But based on this report, it appears to me that the SUV driver rear-ended the Nissan with a lot of force. There are many questions here. What caused the driver of the SUV to rear-end the Nissan? Was he or she impaired? Was the driver traveling at an unsafe rate of speed given the current traffic conditions on the freeway? Was the driver distracted (talking on the cell phone or texting while driving)? These are some of the most common causes for rear-end accidents.
If it is determined that the driver of the SUV was at fault for this accident, he or she could be held liable for the victim’s injuries. In such cases, victims could seek compensation for medical expenses, loss of wages, cost of hospitalization, surgery, physical therapy and other related expenses.
If you have been injured as a result of someone else’s negligent driving, it would be in your best interests to contact an experienced Orange County car accident lawyer, who will make sure your legal rights are protected and that you receive fair compensation for the injuries, damages and loss you have suffered. A knowledgeable car accident lawyer will also advise you about how your car insurance policy applies to your particular case and if the incident should involve an uninsured or underinsured driver.
